Visitor requiring medical visits during 3 month visit
« on: February 23, 2018, 09:49:05 PM »
I will be visiting my fiancé in the UK for 3 months this summer, coming back to the US to get married, applying for a spousal visa, and then [hopefully] moving to England.

I've got a tricky condition (ulcerative colitis? anyone else?) and I'll be starting a medicine that will require me to have blood tests monthly, and see a GI doctor regularly. I'll still be covered by my student insurance in the US.

Any advice on what type of coverage to get and where to get it from? Thanks!

I’d get Cigna International.

My BCBS PPO plan covered international travel. I would look up in-network offices before I traveled. In the UK the Nuffield clinics and hospitals were in-network for us. I’m sure there are other plans with similar coverage.
Dual USC/UKC living in the UK since May 2016

Thank you! I'll look into both!
