Don’t do anything :). The less you add to it the better.

No plastic wallets, no binders, no files, nothing... because the first thing they’ll do in Sheffield is take everything out of them, which gives them extra work to do.

Just place it all in sensible piles and place in the envelope. You can secure the sections with a paper clip or rubber band if you like, but nothing more than that.

Ok I’m officially crazy with stress 🤣

Paper clips it is. Thank you!!!

I am writing the Sponsor letter and I was curious if I should discuss our refusal?

Here is what I am writing :

“I travelled back to Scotland 02/12/2017 until 13/02/2018. During my stay we stayed in touch via WhatsApp and Skype, which we have enclosed. Additionally Staci and (our daughter) came to Scotland 21/12/2017-01/01/2018 to be together during Christmas and New Year. During her trip to Scotland we stayed at our friends (accommodations people)’s Home and spent much of the time with my family and friends. I returned to the USA upon our refusal for our first settlement application. We have lived together continuously since 13/02/2018. “

Is this ok or should I not mention the refusal at all and just state I returned to the USA 13/02/2018?

It's important to mention the refusal. You should address the points which you were refused on and mention how you now meet each of the requirements.

Okay so I (Staci) changed up the sponsor letter wholly based on your reply. So after my introduction paragraph stating my husbands information, we begin to go into our way of meeting the financial requirement. Then I have a second paragraph going over the documents.

Here is a sample of the letter, this section is going over the financial parts:

"I am sponsoring Staci with the financial requirement category D: Cash Savings. Staci inherited ½ ownership of property in Athens Texas in June 2017 that has since been sold to provide $74,012.20 of the required funds. Additionally, we have sold our personal home to provide an additional $38,842.76. The combined total of $112,854.96, equivalent or greater than the £65,200 needed, is held at the American bank institution(BANK), partially held previously at (old bank).

This is our second application, as our first was refused due to insufficient evidence of funds to meet Category D – Cash savings requirements. In this application to provide evidence for the $74,012.20 we have included the court order from the probate of my wife’s father’s estate showing Staci 50% owner of land in Athens Texas, net proceeds worksheet signed by our realtor, a letter from our realtor discussing terms of the sale, and a Certified copy of disbursement of funds showing 50% of the net proceeds going to Staci for the sale of the land, and a certified settlement statement. For the $38,842.76 we have also included the Warranty deeds from purchase and sale of our personal home, net proceeds signed by our realtor, a letter from our realtor discussing the terms of the sale, a settlement statement, and a Certified copy of disbursement of funds showing 100% of the net proceeds going to myself and Staci for the sale of our personal home. Along with bank statements from the banking institutions listed above since September 2017 showing the funds held.  "

I honestly can't seem to find any really good examples of the Sponsor letter, just high level what should be included. I TOTALLY understand I am being OTT but I want that approval!

Also I am about to post my Applicant Cover letter for you all's blessing. Sorry to be so needy!!!! I swear I will buy you all a round one day  ;D ;)

7.4.11. This means that, where the cash savings held at the date of application are the
proceeds of an applicable property sale; the period the property was owned in the 6
months prior to the date of application, before it was sold to produce cash savings, can
be counted towards the 6 month period. So money held as cash savings at the date of
application can have resulted from the sale of a property for the first part of the period of
6 months prior to the date of application and as cash savings for the rest of that 6 month
period if the decision-maker is satisfied that all the requirements in paragraph 7.4.10.
have been met in addition to the requirements being met when the funds are held as
cash savings (see the table in 7.4.3. for a summary of the cash savings requirements).
The rules do not specify what evidence must be submitted as individual circumstances
and local property laws and taxes will vary. However, to assist applicants and decisionmakers,
the rules give examples of some evidence we will take into account. But other
evidence may be accepted if it indicates the requirements are met.

This is from the appendix FM 1.7 can you clarify what this means?
"So money held as cash savings at the date of application can have resulted from the sale of a property for the first part of the period of 6 months prior to the date of application and as cash savings for the rest of that 6 month period..."

We closed on our home today and were hoping to reapply tomorrow, since the cash was deposited today. Is this stating the money needs to be held longer than a day if from property held for >6months?? The home we have owned since 2016 and this is in combination with a sale from land sold in September 2017 that we have held since.

Should we wait to apply??? If so how long??

Staci

The 6 month period is reduced by the amount of time that you've owned the property so because you've had it more than 6 months, you don't need to wait any longer.
However, you do need to provide all the receipts and proofs listed in fm-se.  Do you have *all* the required paperwork from that list already?  Everything needs to be original, hard copies.

We are copying the list of supplied items in the example on the appendix fm below this statement (example 2) and we have everything except the mortgage statement. The mortgage was closed today so I am going to ask my lender what the timeframe is to get this paperwork and possibly wait for that depending on time to supply.

We have :
Deed from our purchase in 2016
Closure statement (certified and signed on each page) from title company.
Letter from solicitor stating closing amount, confirming payment to solicitor, repayment of outstanding mortgage, and payment of taxes.

Getting:
Mortgage Statement showing mortgage paid in full
A bank statement showing proceeds in our account (getting tomorrow to show cleared)

Do I need further?

Thank you for everything!!!!!

Quick question on the bank statements.

We have 2 bank institutions involved with our application. Bank 1 we had money in from Sept -2017 to Feb-2018 in a savings account. We have print out signed and stamped from the bank.

Bank 2 we have the money in from Feb-2018 (same day removed from bank 1 money was deposited into bank 2, so no gap there) to present. My question is at bank 2 we get check images with our statement, and for some dumb reason I have shredded/ got rid of these check image pages. My first page says documents: 5 and I will have 3 pages of feed and 2 of check images.

Will I need to go to the bank and get print out/ stamp of the pages 4 and 5 in my example? The March statement beginning balance is the ending balance for Feb and there is not a gap of days in the actual statement, I just only have 3 of 5 pages.

your thoughts?

Also do I need to do anything special for our daughter? I keep reading all these posts about children applications or involved causing issues. Our daughter is mine and my sponsors and has her UK passport. I have clearly noted in the sponsor letter (and application) that she is ours and British and I included her passport number. Do I need to include more information about her or include her birth certificate?

I sent my package today. And after driving away and about an hour away (and too late to pick it back up) I realized I forgot to sign my cover letter.
Is this a big deal?????

A cover letter is not a requirement, so not signing it should have no influence on the application.  :)

It's the description of goods they want.  It's a requirement for international packages.  :)
