Taxes sent
« on: February 28, 2018, 11:57:11 AM »
The tax part was pretty easy with TurboTax....although I am still lying through my teeth when paying for TTax. Luckily we still have one US credit card....that I use once a year to pay for TurboTax..AAARRRGGGGG. I still use our old address since they want a US address. FBAR still ticks me off though.....pretty simple when looking back afterwards, but putting some info down...then dropping down the page to fill in info...and then having to go back up to complete the form is irritating. I had to start over once because I was too lazy to read the instructions correctly and started filling out the wrong section...and the form wouldn't allow me to delete an entry. Oh well....over with for another year.

While you're on a roll, try to knock out your life in the UK test! :)

Yeah.....already thought that. Running out of excuses. I won't be golfing for over a week with the snow, so maybe I should get my butt in gear. Jeez.....if the online practice tests are any indication......I really really don't care which King put in the law that allowed people to vote (or build kayaks, or make bacon rolls, mmmmmmm bacon rolls)

It's the only one you need. And plenty of the free online practice tests.

Yeah....I just another online practice test....got 85% or so. There are always a few questions that are totally unknown to any normal person. One of the questions is about where the Cenotaph is.....my wife goes "which cenotaph? Harrogate has a Cenotaph".

Same here, I retain a US credit card with my daughter's address to buy TurboTax and one or 2 other things.

FBAR this year wasn't too bad. I opened up last years pdf report in one window while creating this year's report in another window so copying and pasting was relatively easy. Still have to go through those annoying drop down boxes though. I have had to do 2 reports, for myself and my wife since we both have accounts that meet the threshold.

Just looking for this on Amazon.....lots of choices and hard to tell if they are up to date books or not.

It needs to be a 3rd edition book.

Taxes are something I need to do. I've been wondering if it's ok to use a US address, worried that maybe it would look bad somehow? Like if UKVI somehow found out. Am I being daft?
