Marrying in the US following fiancée visa denial?
« on: March 18, 2018, 02:45:51 PM »
Wondering if anyone can confirm whether UK fiancé would potentially run into any kind of issues at customs in the United States if my U.K. visa app is refused.

Asking because our contingency plan would be to marry in the US (or possibly elope to a non-UK country.)

Thanks.

Nope, no issue at all. As long as your fiance is not planning to stay in the US permanently after the wedding, they can just enter on the visa waiver program, get married and then fly home.

In fact, this is exactly what the US Embassy tells you to do:
https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/

Fingers crossed you don't get a refusal and don't have to worry about it, though :).

No, it will not, we married in US, after our fiancé visa rejection... no issues on the border at all.
