HI :)
« on: June 11, 2003, 06:31:22 PM »
Been lurking a few days,, and thought I should join in the fun :)

About me, female , 42, moved here a few years ago, married to a Brit, am quite shy, Orginally from Florida, and Texas. I get to go home  a few times a year,, but adjusting to the UK is interesting,, if not sometimes a bit daunting. I have two teenage daughters, who live in the states still. I am very happy to have found a messageboard with so many other's from the US, who are adjusting to UK life :)

Welcome Tristan!  Glad you decided to come out of the shadows and say hi!  It's always great to have people on here that have made the transition and can share their experiences to us newbies or so to be's!

Hi Tristen, welcome to UKY! :)

I've spent a good deal of time in Texas too.  Where-abouts are you from?  I spent most of my time in Texas in the DFW area, around McKinney and Sulphur Springs and also a bit of time down south in Harlingen.

Where in the UK are you now?

You're lucky you are able to go back to the US regularly....that sure does help!

Hi Tris and welcome to UKY!

I lived in Texas (Houston area) for 9 years...both of my kids were born there and spent their first several years there!

Glad you decided to introduce yourself and I hope you post often!

Life should NOT be a journey to the
grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well
preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand,
wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and
screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
