This whole thing is quite stressful I have had yo distance myself from it all so I can relax as I just kept getting really worked up all the time. I have seen alot of people who took the App route have been also scheduling appointments and some do seem to be getting decisions a bit faster so far I want to book an appointment but worried if I do I will then get an email as that would be my luck.

I really hope they get a move on with decisions I desperately need some good news as things have gotten very stressful with my husbands income being furloughed and now being faced with potentially losing his income and I am only a seasonal employee and were slightly worried if he loses his employment if that will affect the visa as we applied based off his income alone!

On a positive note it was just my daughters 5th birthday yesterday so we enjoyed that It was a mermaid princess theme that was her cake I made in the photo

Not sure if it’s worth a shot, but maybe get in touch with your MP.

Not sure what to do! I can see FREE appointments available at our closest core center in Oct but as we have applied for ILR(M) on 14th May and the normal processing is 6 months and we used the app, should we just wait to hear or should we book an appointment to speed things along?

That cake is beautiful. Happy birthday to your daughter--I mean, your mermaid princess!

Having booked the free appointment for Oct 16, at least I'll have some timeline to keep me going. It may mean absolutely nothing, but if it gives me a chance to talk to someone in person about the status of my application, it will be worth the day off from work. And if I hear a decision before then, I can always cancel it.

@j2j
My husband doesnt believe our MP would do anything as he seems very lazy. I have tried to see if there are any free appointments but there are none near me and I dont want to pay for one that wont be till mid October then potentially get a response as by then it would be 8 weeks for me since the app and have to worry about trying to get a refund as we dont have the extra funds at the moment

@Heidi1961
Thank you took me 2 days to make and decorate but her reaction when she saw it made it all worth it

I have never written to my representative before (either here or in the US), but I have done so now. Again, I feel the need to try every option at this point.

Just some advice, only the sponsor and British citizen can write to their respective MPs, and they must be constituent of the borough.

I've had this email sent from the home office.

Due to the volume of correspondence we may be unable to locate your application without this reference and your correspondence may be returned to you.

Thank you for your application for permission to stay in the UK.

We apologise for the inconvenience, but, due to the worldwide response to COVID-19, UKVI services are limited and we are not able to meet our usual service standards.

Although we would normally decide your application within eight weeks from the date it was submitted, unfortunately this may not be possible in your case.

In line with Government advice on essential travel, social distancing and other restrictions related to COVID-19, for the safety of our customers and our staff, the UK Visa and Citizenship Application Service (UKVCAS) locations where you would ordinarily submit your biometric details and provide any documents for scanning that you have not already uploaded yourself have been closed.
Some centres are now opening with limited capacity so you may now be able to get an appointment it is important you attend if an appointment is offered.

Alternatively, you may have already attended an appointment and submitted your biometric details. If this is the case, no further action is required.

If your application was submitted prior to your current grant of leave expiring, your current status within the United Kingdom has been extended by section 3C of the Immigration Act 1971. You do not need to do anything else at this stage and do not need to be concerned about your immigration status.

If you have applied to switch your status in respect of your employment or studies then please refer to the guidance on Gov.UK as you should be permitted to commence work/study prior to your application being decided, should you meet the conditions set out in the guidance.

We apologise for the delay in dealing with your application and for the inconvenience this is causing. Please be assured we will do all we can to make a decision on your case as quickly as possible once your biometric details have been submitted.

We appreciate your patience at this time.

I've had this email sent from the home office.
That is a standard email to advise that your application will not be processed in the standard 8 weeks it would normally take.

It’s just a generic email so they can cover themselves throughout the delays.

Aye, I was not expecting anything different. On the UKVCAS website it did mention something along the lines of that they would be contacting applicants giving them an update on the process of their application.

They are going in date order at the moment, so I’m guessing you applied September 10th correct?

Hopefully you will hear something by second week December based on the backlog.

19th August is when I submitted the application.

The timelines should be in my signature.
