Ugh, bugs (the viral kind)
« on: October 31, 2017, 04:02:30 PM »
So three year old was sick all night last night.  FUN!  One of those great nights of parenting.  She woke up this morning feeling great and was SO UPSET when I told her she wasn't going to nursery on Halloween.  She's been so looking forward to being a scarecrow.

I, on the other hand, have a severe vomiting phobia.  Talk about shivers up my spine.  I'm doing better with it since having kids but it's not good.  I'm desperately trying to not transfer it onto my kids.  I got mine from my mom, even though she fiercely denies having a vomiting phobia.

I had asked my husband if he could stay home today, as a nursing baby and a sick preschooler, along with my phobia, was just more than I can handle mentally.  He gave the song and dance about how it's not a good time at work (never is though) and off he went.  Well, he just got home 15 minutes ago and looks like death.  I didn't want him to be at home this way.  I suspect it's only a matter of time before the vomiting begins...

FUN HALLOWEEEN.  It's my sweet Sobe cat's 17th birthday!

Send help!  I hope I don't get struck down and if I do, I hope it's after my husband has recovered!!!!!!!  We were sick simultaneously once before and it was horrific!

Hope she makes a quick recovery, bet you are feeling tired and drained. I've had a bad headache, well migraine since Saturday, feeling bit better today. I guess it is the season of bugs now.

Yes, it is!

I can't help but feel like these things are more common here.  Maybe just too many people in small places?

Oh man!

Hope everyone feels better soon.

Maybe a family movie night curled up on the sofa would distract everyone from their illnesses?

I feel for you KFdancer. I live with my three young grandchildren (1 five-year-old girl and twin one-year-old boys) and with everyone else is a full household of eight people. Every single one of us has had a stomach bug over a three-day period. It was horrific! The grown ones in the house can handle their own but it completely threw us off just how much puke can come out of three small kids. The washing machine worked overtime, the carpet shampooer had to be put to use, my son's brand-new mattress had to be thrown out and at one point, I had to bathe the Maine Coon cat who HATES baths. I thought bathing her after the skunk encounter was bad (so very Pepe LePeu) but she had "chunks" in her fur 🤢 I was never vomit-averse but I freaking am now!!

I shouldn't say it but I kinda laughed when you said your husband went to work despite your pleas but came down with the "lurgy". That's karma in action! Let's hope this mess passes you by.

Good luck for Thursday, btw.

Probably. At work you've got people coughing & sneezing. Not looking forward to this winter. I need to go somewhere warm.

Poor kid, hope she's feeling better soon. We've all had the horrible head cold and moving into cough. I'm going on day five of it. Not as bad as stomach flu though
