Florida sunshine

It's mid-80s in Florida now! 8)  I can't wait to get back onto the gulf beaches (Tampa Bay).  Not much longer now.  At least I'll get to soak up some summer (warmth!) there. ;D

Bleh!  The heat here is so miserable!  I guess after an English winter it sounds good but I'm already suffering.

Yes!  We are covering four states in two weeks. ::)  (I'm tired just thinking about it!)

Yeah -- considering on Monday morn, it was SO COLD here -- I wouldn't have been surprised if it had snowed!  Looks at calendar...  Um - May 16th?!?!!!

Just had a discussion w/ brit bf about the heat. It energizes me. I love the heat. Not the oppressive kind, but anything around 75-85 is awesome. I feel so alive and ready to go when it's that warm. Or you can lounge by a pool or wear cute skirts and open toe shoes. It's crummy here in DC today - it's like I'm in England - raining like crazy and only 50 degrees. ick.

Have fun on your trip Carolyn B  ;D

Sigh.  Rain and 50 fegrees sounds like heaven.  I'm the opposite, I feel alive in weather like that!  The heat sucks out all of my energy and makes my face flush bright red.  I'm like a sodden tomato.  ;D

well, I'm in Florida and the first month of warm (april) was really nice. Now its hot and air con is on and unless you're going to the beach or a pool, just miserable for everyday activities. Even taking my dogs for their daily walk they start panting after a few minutes and the sidewalks get so hot on their little pads. I'll take a little cooler and lush and green any time. I dont even mind the rain. :)

I can understand that too. The weathermen are predicting a heat wave for britain this summer though so I'll cross my fingers for you. ;)

I lived in Florida for four years, (Tampa Bay as well) in summers I remember the typical short rain in the afternoon, and the steam that would come off the ground after it had passed. I wear glasses too, and had problems with them fogging up everytime I left an airconditioned space to go outside! Also, I loved the wild parrots.....they were so cool.

Born and raised in Orlando, FL, so I have a love-hate relationship with the heat here.  It was just too hot today walking around St. Augustine.  Summer is definitely here and now watching the forecast for hurricanes.  There is a hurricane Adrian that is crossing over Central America and the National Hurricane people have predicted another bad year and a decade of 15-20 years to follow.  So, Carolyn, watch the weather forecast before coming to Tampa, or you could be stuck here for a while.
