new US passport
« on: January 03, 2006, 09:10:19 PM »
so, check this out... I sent in old passport to get new passport with new married name.  So, I get my passport, new sparkling with new name and this insert that came with it says...

 "if your passport has less than 6 months validity, be aware that some countries wil not permit you to enter or will not place a visa in your passport"

wtf?!?!?  I got new passport so I could get my settlement visa in it!?!?!?!?!

Has anyone gotten a spousal visa in a brand new passport??  Any problems??  THANKS!

I'm pretty sure that means that if your passport has six months or less remaining until it expires, a lot of countries won't let you enter.  As you've just replaced it, presumably it doesn't expire in the next 6 months- you're good to go :D
Now a triple citizen!

Student visa 9/06-->Int'l Grad Scheme 1/08-->FLR(M) 7/08-->ILR 6/10-->British citizenship 12/12
