Legal Work in England
« on: March 15, 2005, 12:52:55 AM »
Hello all,

My wife is in the process of applying for dual citizenship. We plan on moving to England spring of 2006. We currently live in Minnesota, USA. Once she has her dual citizenship I will apply for a Spousal Visa. Once we have all that taken care of we will both be able to legally work in England.

My question is, do I we need to get any additional items to obtain a job in England?  While we are waiting for Liverpool to process our dual citizenship request I want to continue to prepare for the big move. Any suggestions or items that I need which will allow us to obtain a job in England, besides dual citizenship and a spousal visa?

Thanx for helping!

Hi Johnnie - that's about it! Once you are over here you can apply for a National Insurance number - used to make your tax deductions but usually people don't get one until they are offered a job, although you can get one while you are job hunting - probably saves hassle if you do because you pay a higher rate of tax til you get it sorted.

Good luck with your move.
