Wii fit Free Step and Free Run, best pace-setting songs?
« on: March 03, 2009, 12:11:19 PM »
So this morning I attempted to put together a little song list to accompany a 10-20 free step and free run session, and while some songs worked well, others worked terribly.

For the record, my best success for Free Step songs were (reflecting my personal music taste as well):

Bullet with Butterfly Wings: Smashing Pumpkins
Zero: Smashing Pumpkins
Beautiful People: Marilyn Manson
Personal Jesus: Marilyn Manson cover
Just Stop: Disturbed
Go Forth and Die: Dethklok (from Metalocalypse)

For free step it seems I needed a strong beat that was fast enough to feel like I was moving, but also spaced enough to give me time to step fully on the Wii Balance Board to register the step.

I utterly struck out with Free Run songs... I can't figure out what works there at all.

Anyway, I'm looking for new suggestions (they don't have to necessarily be alternative rock/metal either - I experimented with Pussycat Dolls and Christina Aguilera as well) for other songs that work for setting the pace for jogging/step aerobics.

What works for you?

Are you looking for songs that are accessible through the Wii menu or just any song to play on your IPod/CD Player that has the right beat?

I didn't know I could get to other songs via the Wii!  I've just been using my laptop next to the Wii to play songs through iTunes.
