Just married last week in the US;  now living in London area. This is not a first marriage for either of us, so we'd like to send out a wedding announcement to family and friends on both continents. I'm looking for an online source for nice wedding announcements. Anyone? Cheers.

I think they even have a shop in London.

If you're looking for really classy, try this letterpress printer in Yorkshire:

http://inclinepress.com/

The web site is all about the books that they do, but they do wedding invites/announcements as well if you call them. Because it's letterpress (which is what folks did before computers and other modern printing methods) you just choose a style or general look for the invite. You don't have the option of lots of little changes and such. People who produce letterpress cards and books now are artisans practicing a dying art. This is what will set the announcement apart from the other stuff. Just my two cents!

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

off topic ... but that used to be THE  American food shop in London - someone told us about it and Stu went down there, he was very disappointed to find out they now seel mostly weddingy things! I believe there is one shelf devoted to American items though.

Good luck in your search DDL, hope you find what you're looking for. Wedding announcements of the kind you mean aren't common over here so yes online is probably your best bet.  I couldn't find any when we got married last year, not ready printed anyway.

LOL. NOW I understand why you posted this request. I started scouting wedding invites today and I just kept saying (outloud, no one else in the room even) "why are they all so bloody UGLY?" So after much searching I found this site: http://www.perfectweddingstore.co.uk/main.php

You'll have to dig through lots of tacky stuff, but check out the Wedding Bells and White Lace collections as I found a couple in each that look to be simple, elegant, traditional. And the prices aren't too bad either. I've ordered some samples - we'll see what they look like for real....

I used Melissa Gaddis from Gaddis Designs http://www.gaddisdesign.com/  Although, she's based in North Carolina, it was worth every cent of it.  I could not find any invitations that I liked that were offered here.  Just not my style.  She's awesome and very affordable.  If I had these printed in NYC they would have cost a fortune.  I can probably email you a copy of our invitations, wedding program, and menu.  She incorporated the theme I designed all the way through...and with such ease.

http://www.mvsweddinginvitations.com/english/home.asp has my vote!  I adored the print of the bride and groom on the bicycle before, during, and after my wedding planning!   :)

Thanks to all of you - I looked at all of the links and they all looked lovely. But we're wedding in the UK and I don't think I can handle the worry of having stuff shipped over here (not to mention the customs/VAT issues!)

Dunno if it'll help, but the site I listed does international orders (they're located in Canada).  Perhaps they can give you an idea of how much it'll cost to ship to the UK?
