Spousal visa months after marriage?
« on: March 15, 2007, 12:55:09 PM »
I know, I keep posting...but more questions.

We are getting married in Texas in the summer.  He will then go back to the UK due to the Army most likely, but, I will be staying because I have to sell my condo and wait for the dogs to finish their six month wait.  Is this possible or do I have to go back with him?

We figured that he could overnight post his documents to me and I could take the trip to NYC to get the visa sorted a couple months before I leave.  Is this possible?  Can I ask the Consulate to post date the visa?

You don't have to go back with him. You can get your visa postdated up to 3 months from the time you submit it. I had my fiance visa postdated 5 weeks without any problems via the Chicago consulate.

That is what I figured!  I just wanted verification that I was thinking correctly!  All this stuff with paperwork, dates, and little details can make things get jumbled up a bit.  Thanks!
