Do you have to go far? We live in London and went to Croydon, but even so,  we stayed in a hotel the night before!

Fairly far, yes and I wish we could do that but my husband just needs too much equipment to make that feasible.

My thoughts will be with you! This has been a long and challenging journey for you. X
Married 1966, left UK 1969, returned 1998, left again 2000, returned June 2014 (husband on spousal visa) granted FLR(M) November 30th 2016  and ILR on  24th May, 2019. Yeah!

On the day, if you are delayed, don't panic.  I'm sure if you arrive late, you will be allowed in.  They are human after all.  :)

Yeah, I really can't imagine that they would turn us away for arriving late because of weather related delays. Especially as I am sure that we will look suitably bedraggled by the time we eventually get there... at least that's what I've been telling myself anyway!  8)

Our appointment has just been cancelled because of the weather!

That might sound like bad news, but I have just spent the entire day realising that we would never have made it in anyway (because pretty much all the trains are now cancelled) and assuming that we were going to have to go to the back of the queue and I was going to have to re-do the bank statements and the perfectly distributed mail and and the dates on everything and they would bring out a new form in the meantime for sure and I'm just sick of the sight of the application by now, really I am.... so when she said she could reschedule us and I don't have to start all over again... there are not words for the sense of relief I felt! Now I can stop worrying about the weather and just enjoy it! It is just the absolute best news I could have had today...YAY!!!   ;D ;D ;D

Excellent news (well, as good as it can be considering).  Will you have to wait long for the rescheduled appointment?

Thank you! It's in about a week.  :)

I am still bummed obviously but I had myself so wound up that I was just so, so, so happy when she called....

A bit like when we were in Florida in September and Hurricane Irma was coming for us.  Once we spoke to the airline and found out we could change to an earlier flight for no cost, etc. - it was a no brainer.  Such relief having that decision made and not having to track the storm any longer!

It’s annoying but good at the same time! I know you want to get it over with but did not need the stress of a journey in this weather.

Thanks KFd and Michali!   ;D Yes, it's going to take me a little while to come down from all the excitement but I should sleep well tonight! Big relief!  ;D.

Oh how annoying/what a relief!  How can something be both?  But it is!

If it's only a week later, this probably won't be a problem, but will all your documents still be in date when you get in?
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

Right?  ;D
Yes, thank goodness!  Apart from the new confirmation email which I've just printed out and will add, I'll be able to take the application exactly as is.  :)
