Broadband Internet Providers
« on: May 05, 2003, 06:15:21 AM »
Hi,
We are moving to London in a couple weeks and would like to know if anyone has any recommendations for Broadband Internet Providers.

We have both BulldogDSL and BT available in our area....but do not know much about either company or their service record.
Thanks,
Carrie

I'd imagine you'd also either have access to NTL or Telewest. The two have pretty much carved up the London area. I have Telewest's broadband service - Blueyonder. Have to say I'm pretty happy with it and I'm thinking of upgrading to their 1MB service. For more info: http://info.blueyonder.co.uk/publish/index.html

NTL and Telewest are both cable companies so you can usually get a deal with them when you also get your TV cable from them as well.

BT was created by Satan - resist!

Thank you very much!!  We do have access to NTL and will also need cable TV...so that sounds like a great plan.

Thanks for your response :)

Do it. You will never look back.

I can vouch for telewest.  It has been a pretty good service over all.  We are using them for cable and broadband.

We have the Premier service for cable (no added movie channels..etc.) and 512K Broadband for £45/month.

We just recently got BT Broadband in our area and so far, no complaints!  It's great - 54MB - nice and speedy!  BT has been very helpful w/ customer service issues re: returning our modem (we needed a different one to use with our home wireless network) and crediting our account.
