So is there a good way to transfer dollars to pounds? I got a little bit of extra money in my US account that I want to move but the rates on TransferWise don't look any better to me. 
I've never found any rates better than Transferwise in my experiences over the years so would be inclined to say that if the Transferwise rates aren't good, you probably won't find good rates (just a guess).
