Any updates from recent applicants?

Using non-priority service, Sheffield received application on Feb 3rd and today, Feb 12 they sent an email saying they are dispatching my documents. NINE DAYS!!!  I can't imagine that's a bad thing, right? I mean if something was unclear, they would have asked for clarification.  aaaagh, I just want the passport to come back.  But seriously... NINE days for non-priority service.  Glad I didn't pay for that.

Got the email this morning that a "decision has been made" and the application will be dispatched from the decision making centre in Sheffield shortly.  We also got a email with the tracking number but no charges are showing up in the UPS account.

The tracking says estimated delivery is Monday by 10:30am.... its going to be a very long weekend..

Congratulations Alixandrite and Kezzie62!  I received an email today asking for me to confirm the address I would like my passport and supporting documents returned to.  I hope that means a decision has been made.  More importantly, I hope it is a good decision

I'm crossing everything right now, I hope that by next week I hear something good from the visa office. I want to be in Oxford in March so I can spend my Birthday with my guy!

aaagh, I don't know why they can't say something in the email.  Mine didn't specifically say a decision had been made, but that they needed courier info (even though I'd provided it) to despatch my documents.  "Despatch"... heehee... I've always spelled it "dispatch".  This is yet another spelling difference.  After more than 13 years together, I thought I'd seen all of the differences in our spellings.  lol

Good luck everyone!!!  And yeah, I want to get my flight booked too, but not until May.  Next I gotta work on getting the cat's paperwork taken care of!

my guess would be because they don't want people booking flights right away. Just in case of some discrepancy on the visa or maybe the package being lost. I figure something like that. Because I am sure if they emailed me saying, "you've been approved" I would book those tickets so fast. haha.

I am also glad to hear things are moving quickly!  We have our Notice of Marriage appointment booked for March, so I was hoping I wouldn't have to reschedule it.

Maybe we should get together in the UK for celebratory drinks!

Yeah, Iowa was actually where my dad took us after he retired from the Navy!  My fiancee is on a project in Swindon, but our main residence is in Bolton.  So I split my time between the two.  Swindon isn't very far from Didcot!

It sure is   Where in the UK will you be?  Did you get an decision email yet?

OMG... just checked email..... AGAIN and I have the 'decision has been made" email AND an email with the courier service (UPS) tracking number.      Yikes..."If anyone contacts you advising that your application is still under consideration or that they can influence the outcome of your application in any way, they cannot - please report any such approach to VisaSheffield@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk."  That doesn't make me comfortable.  I try to read so many things between lines that probably aren't there.  Did your emails say that?

I am not sure how I'm going to survive this weekend waiting for this envelope to arrive maybe Monday or Tuesday.... GAHHHHHH!!!

I'll be living in Ilkley, which is 15-20 miles to Leeds, up in Yorkshire.  The hubs grew up there.  I love it up there... HUGELY different from Chicago.  LOL
