Great!  Where did they send the check if you used a UK address for your tax return?

Just came home to a letter from the IRS:
'You are entitled to an economic stimulus payment of $300.00....you can expect your payment by 6/6/08...your stimulus payment check will be mailed to you.'

Wow!  I'm shocked.  Didn't know I'd be eligible for this since I claimed a miniscule foreign earned income exclusion and had no other US income. Well, this will pay the student loan for a few months, so that's nice.

I just had a lengthy phone call with the IRS as I'm working on taxes and they confirmed that as long as you earned $3000 even in worldwide income that you get a check. She said that originally they had decided overseas people would not qualifiy but that this had been changed. So... yeah.  $300 a person if you 're married and and extra $300 per kid. Thanks G Dub

I still haven't heard anything, and I paid this year, darn it! Hope I get a letter soon too then.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

So where do they post the check if you have entered an overseas address? Will they send it here? They don't have any other address to send it to as I haven't registered an American one with them for several years.

I'm assuming they send it here to our foreign address. Especially as our tax booklet arrived here... so they were able to find us for that!

I got $600.  But I worked most of last year in the states and I filed married filing separately because it worked out better for refunds and such.  It was direct deposited into my US bank account.

I assume your overseas address, as that was where they sent my letter (and my tax booklet).

I took the foreign income exclusion and I am supposed to get $300. They are gonna pay by DD and Turbo Tax even took my bank routing number and all.
All my income in 2007 was from the UK.
Good things come to those who wait...a really long time.

If you don't mind my asking, those of you getting the ESP and using the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, was your income over the threshold of FEIE ($85,700)?  Mine was way under and I can't figure out why I keep coming up ineligible, unless you must have $3000 of tax liability over and above the exclusion.  That would make sense.   ???
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.
