Question about citizenship application
« on: April 28, 2008, 03:39:50 PM »
I'm sending in my naturalisation application tomorrow and have a question about part of the form.  On line 2.1, it asks for the date of my first arrival in the UK.  In the notes, it says, "Enter the date you first arrived with a view to staying in the UK on a long-term basis."  I entered the UK as a student in June 2003 (my passport was stamped to October 2004), got married in August 2004, and applied for FLR from within the UK in September 2004.

Should I enter the date I arrived on my student visa on the form, or the date I returned from my honeymoon since that was the first date I entered the UK with intent to settle (even though I was still on a student visa)?  It's probably a small detail, but I want to make sure I complete the form correctly.

Thanks for any help!

I'd go with the last time you entered the UK before switching the visa, so if that was the return from the honeymoon, that's the date.
