Not very convenient for someone who has to pack a lot!
« on: December 06, 2004, 05:16:05 PM »
The next time you are out buying a baby, make sure to check the label! Don't get the kind of baby that screams blue creamy murder at the sound of packing tape squeaking out of the roller and onto a box! Even very placid, very happy babies can come with this strange and VERY INCONVENIENT fault, so please! Check the label!

Or

Can someone please find some soundproof baby earmuffs to help my child get through this? The boxes need to be taped up, little one!  ::)

Oh I must check the handbook to see if ours does that! Maybe I can take him in for servicing if he does :)

Hate to tell you that babies aren't the only sufferers of this.  My 11-year-old has very sensitive hearing and can't stand the ripping of the packing tape - or the sound of leaves being swept off the driveway.

Awwwww. Poor little guy.   He knows something is happening and he doesn't know what it is.  Give him a cuddle.  Why don't you live closer?  I'd come and take him away for a few hours.

Nooooooooooooo!!!

Or well - either that or I can use this as an excuse for the rest of my life to say "Sorry lovely husband, but I have to go take Little Mr. Sensitive Ears out while you do all the packing!!" I like that!

I've read that NASA has a prototype baby out whose hearing can be switched off or on, depending on the circumstances. Very expensive, though. :)
