USC wife moving back with me?
« on: September 30, 2005, 11:30:08 PM »
I'm a UK citizen, currently living in the states on a work visa. I'm marrying a US citizen in a couple of weeks, and we've talked off and on about eventually moving to the UK together, as my family is there, and she has none here. The only thing keeping us here now are our careers ...

I've not really investigated the visa options yet, can anyone give me any pointers?

Thanks!

Paul

If you are getting married to her then she can apply for a spouse visa. Here is a site with a list of the visas and information you need to know about applying for them http://www.britainusa.com/visas/visas.asp

It's not a hard process.  She has to have the visa before entering the UK, however.  If she's in no rush she can do it by post.  After you've been married for 4 years, she can come in as a permanent resident - meaning she'll never have to apply for another visa again.
