VAF2 - Advice
« on: August 28, 2006, 02:33:57 PM »
Hi,

Andrea and I are just putting together the paper work for our VAF2 and would like to throw some questions past you all.  For those of you who don't know out circumstances, they are as follows.

- Met in Texas in October 2004
- Andrea moved to UK in Aug 2005 on a student visa and has been studying for her masters ever since (living with me)
- Andrea returns to the US on the 26th Sept 2006
- I travel to the US on the 7th October on the visa waver program
- 14th October 2006 we are to be married in Andrea's hometown :)
- On the 16th October we are making our way to NYC to apply for Andreas settlement visa (we are returning to the UK)
- The application will be done in person and Andrea will be making the appointment about two weeks before the 16th.

So thats the past and current plan, the paper work we intend to collect for the VAF2 are

Steve
====

- Passport
- Birth Cert
- Budget from Oct 2006 for 12 months
- My Decree Absolute
- A letter from work showing I have had continuous employment and my current salary.
- My Tenant Agreement
- Recent Bank Statements
- Marrage Cert

Andrea
=====

- VAF2
- Passport
- Pictures
- Birth Cert
- Recent Bank Statements
- Marrage Cert

So our questions are as follows

1) Have we missed anything from the list above.
2) Does Andrea require a CV to show qualification to work?
3) On the VAF2 (question 3.5) its asks "Where is He/she Now?" referring to Andreas new hubby i.e. me, at the time I will be with her on the day but I reside in the UK so what would be the answer (US or UK?)
4) Do we need anymore proof of our relashonship?

Thanks for all your help

1) Looks good to me.
2) Not required, but it does help.
3) Either is fine.  I would say "residing in the UK"
4) A few pictures and the marriage certificates should be fine

This sounds totally straight forward.

For the question - "when did you last see your partner?" I like to be creative, and sometimes put "3 minutes ago - he is outside this office waiting for me", or simply "this morning".  I am not sure what a question worded "where is he now?" refers to, so I would put "resident in the UK - currently in US on holiday".
