Finally DONE!

So it’s over, on the 29th (which as it happens was my late Mother’s birthday) I attended my Citizenship Ceremony in Inverness. An overwhelming THANK YOU to all of the experts and members of this forum. Without your help I would have long since be certifiably NUTS.🥸

How did you find the citizenship ceremony?  I found mine kind of strange, but it's hard not to be proud and happy at a time like that.  However, mine was conducted by some old geezer who insisted that everyone all around the room say their full name as on the certificate, then made fun of every single one of them!  Not much could be more British than that I guess.

Ugh, I’m annoyed on your behalf.

A friend of mine was super annoyed that Prince Harry and Meghan could use their preferred names when her husband had to marry “Melissa”.  A name she’s never ever used.  ::)

I was proud and very happy, they let my wife’s parents attend as well. It was also a bit strange, no photo of the King…no playing of God Save the King. Held at the Archive Center. Not quite the pomp and circumstance that I expected.
