What constitutes an official bank statement?
« on: May 06, 2009, 03:46:53 PM »
Hi all,

I hope I am not wigging myself out  :-[  I am currently on HSMP and will be reapplying for extension soon under the Tier 1.  I am planning to send in the usual bank statements I get in the mail, with the letterhead with my name, address and account number.  Is this correct?

Now, I happen to have 2 bank accounts at different banks and will be sending in both statements.  The following paragraph in the Tier 1 guidance pack is very confusing.   If I don't have this original mail ( in other words, one of the bank accounts that I have is one where I have chosen to go "paperless") will not suffice, as they are all downloaded without the proper paper.  The problem is, I have called HSBC three times to three different departments and the botom line is , they don't do notarisation or raised seals like they suggest in the guidance pack.  If I'm using the original bank statement that gets mailed to me home every month, is that fine on its onw? HELP!

I can verify with UKBA that you can submit as many different bank statements as you can as long as it is within the same time period and it is accessible cash, like not an IRA.  It can also be money abroad in a US account, which is also a relief.  :)

cheers
Tulip

Move banks.  Change accounts. Write stern letters.  Cry.

Write to the manager of your local branch and if that doesn't work, write to their head office.  Send all letters by recorded delivery mail and give them 7 days to reply. Don't cry!  ;)

I should have specified...go to a branch, and if they don't help you THEN cry until they do.

That's the way I do things!
