Yes if you click on the settlement link at the bottom it takes you to an eariler press release that discusses in general the things that clarified today.

But no where does it say anything about family path, so maybe I am missing something.

No, not yet.

As Transpondia said, today is just the first round of announcements (which just deal with the economic visas - work and student)... meaning there should be more announcements coming up in the (near?) future.

The official news announcement on the UKBA website is dated today (15th March 2012):
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/newsarticles/2012/march/43-changes-rules

It covers changes to the following visa categories: Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 4, Tier 5, All Tiers, Visitors, Overseas Domestic Workers, and Sponsors (for Tiers 2 and 5).

So it's a pretty good indication that if they are announcing all these visas that relatively shortly they may also announce spousal changes as well?

Sorry if I've asked this before, but will these changes affect Work Permit holders applying for ILR?  It only mentions "Skilled Workers" on UKBA but I am suspicious why Work Permit holders aren't included, as we are economic migrants as well. Thanks for clarifying!

I *think* we're OK -  Based upon everything I read, it looks like it impacts anyone who applied after April 2011.

Yeah, they went to the tier visas not long after I came to the UK.  We're coming to the homestretch... 265 days for me, less for you!  Fingers crossed!!!!!   :)

According to the Telegraph, the family income threshold is going to be £25700 and implemented in June...

But that's still not an official announcement, correct? Because it still says others are fighting for it to be between 18,000 and 25,700 pounds.

Yep - still no announcement. Can't see the Lib Dems being happy with it being that high. And interesting that it's already been delayed until June.

I can understand why, although I am biased. My husband makes a few HUNDRED pounds below that mark they are pushing. It is beyond ridiculous to think he could not support us on that. I am completely in favour of raising it but some commons sense needs to be applied.

This is nothing new.

As always a headline immigration statement just after the budget. They announce the maximum, and are silent when it quietly gets lowered later in the year.

My guess is it'll end up being 18k.

They are doing another consultation on this so as to combine all the various changes into a single framework; in the last round they did a public consultation and in this round it's an invitation only affair.
