Student Spouse can work?????
« on: February 22, 2005, 02:27:36 AM »
Hey Everybody,

My fiance is currently applying to unis in the UK for post-graduate work.  We will be married this summer, so that is not an issue.  Neither is the money.  What I want to know is will I be able to work while he is attending school?  If so, are there any limitations or will I be considered the same as any other spouse?  Please help, as I can't find answers anywhere?

Whilst your spouse who is the student can only work 20 hours per week, you will be able to work with no restrictions except those that might pertain to actual citizenship/nationality issues (being a police officer, working in certain areas of government, et cetera).

Thank you.  That's what I suspected, however you know difficult it is to get a straight answer on any gov't site.
