Working Whilst Getting a New Visa
« on: January 15, 2008, 01:52:46 PM »
My 2 year visa will run out in July of this year, and I cannot send for a new one until 30 days before the day mine expires.  In the meantime, I am employed permanently.    If the visa takes longer than 30 days to renew, I will have no legal documentation proving my right to work.

How does this work for employers.  What should I tell my HR department?

I wouldn't tell them anything.  Your status stays legal whilst the Home Office is processing your application.

As long as the application is made before the old visa expires, your conditions are extended, and you remain legal to work.
