I *think* I got my ILR
« on: September 03, 2008, 04:36:32 PM »
Seems like a stupid thing to say but I got a notice that I had a package today in my maiden name and it's recorded delivery so..I'm guessing it's my ILR (hope it is!) Just wanted to let those who are waiting know...

UKBA Received ILR Application: July 24th
Package delivered back to me (with what I hope it approved ILR): 3 September
= 28 working days (counting from 25th July)

The annoying this is I have to wait til Saturday to go get it because the stupid sorting office is only open from 8am to 1pm! >:(

Reminds me of when I applied for my COA...getting that little red card through the door was almost as good as the real thing!  Hope you get the best news possible on Saturday :)

Thanks Springhaze and Ancmc!

Apparently I need to bring ID to pick up the package...what if my ID is in the package? I guess I'll go prepared with a few things that are in my maiden name  ;)

Thats awesome, congrats (in advance!) :D
I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

We got our red card through the door too for my FLR!  Good thing too as we're flying to Egypt on Sunday morning and REALLY needed those passports.  Luckily the post office is just around the corner, I'm going to go at 7 when it opens because the hours are ridiculous.

As for ID to show them, they're pretty lax, I usually use a debit card, as long as it matches your name you'll be fine.  Otherwise you need two letters or similar that have your maiden name.

We sent ours in on 22nd July for anyone else out there looking at waiting times.  Our app is pretty straightforward.  Caroline was born in Malaysia, but moved here at a young age, other than that there's nothing complicated about it.

Good luck to anyone else still waiting!

A household bill usually does the trick.

Well done all!

I'm getting a friend to pick it up today...I've given her a loan statement that's in my maiden name and a credit card as well. If that's not enough I also gave her my provisional UK Driving licence...but that's in my married name. We'll see..

Yay! We've just picked up the package from the Delivery Office and it is indeed the FLR(M) and passports!! So happy.

Well done to you Juls I'm sure all will be fine for your friend to pick up package.

Juls - my hubby picks up stuff for me all the time (and even before we were married and had same surname).  He always just took my US driver's licence...he could've been anyone to the PO though; they didn't care since he had my ID.

This is going to sound stupid, but I've actually been watching to see when you'd get your ILR Juls, as I sent mine in on July 29th :P So if it is your ILR (yay!) I'd hope mine will be coming to me with some good news next week too :D

I got it, I got it!! yay!! No problems with my friend picking it up either so that's good!

I think they only kept my cover letter and the letter from my inlaws stating that we live here and how much we contribute to bills etc.
