Thanks! Warning though - it's a bit of an anti-climax. It's so much stress and then once you have it back you realize it wasn't such a big deal afterall! I'm hoping it helps me find a job soon though now that agencies will see me! (They won't see anyone without a visa that's valid for at least three months apparently).

Does this mean they will not see anybody that does not have at least three months left on a current Visa?  Am I reading that right.. So if you have a brand new Spousal Visa valid until 2010 they will?   :-\\\\

Yup, that's what I meant..sorry it's the excitement of getting the visa lol.

From my experience I had no problem registering with agencies when I first came over on my spousal visa.

Then I found a job directly, it was a temp contract that kept getting extended.

Then in May/June I went to go register with agencies since that contract ended, and that's when I was told that they couldn't register me since my EC expired in August (ie it was only three months from expiring.)

Congrats to all of you! I look forward to the day when I get my working permit/visa sorted. It is quite stressful even on this side of the ocean!

Juls, you need to update your sig timeline!  :D

I also wanted to post on here the things they kept:

1) My explaination about why our finances are so low at the moment (slow time at my husband's job, me being unemployed at the moment, and just coming back from holiday).

2) Letter from my inlaws stating that we live with them, and how much we contribute as rent, share of bills etc.

3) An email from a job agency stating that as soon as I got my ILR they'd let me register with them and do their best to find me a job (also stapled the woman's business card on to it).

Hope this helps anyone who finds themselves living with inlaws and/or unemployed while applying. I also did a proposed budget based on my previous salary - they didn't keep it but I'm sure it showed that I do normally contribute to supporting us.
