Work on a Student Visa

Hi All,

Andrea is starting to think about getting a part time job and we just got out her student visa to check everything was OK visa wise.  The visa says and I quote "Work (and any changes) must be authorised".  I was under the impression that she could work up to 20 hours on a 12 month student visa so this sentence confuses me.  Could somebody clarify the rules.

I'm sure Andrea can work 20 hours a week during school and full time during breaks.  I've read the rules so often, I can almost quote the site.
