Bank Statement For WP Tier 2 Entry Clearance.
« on: September 02, 2008, 05:04:06 PM »
Hi Guys - I know there are couple of post related to this but wanted to ask specifically.

I am going to go for the entry clearance soon. I am a work permit holder. I am going to show the amount which i have in my UK bank account that i can support myself initially.

Since i am out of UK i dont have the Hard Copy, also mine is paperless account so i am going to take the statement from Internet and get it stamped from local Branch here to say that it is authentic. Will that be ok?

Please advice. Along with this i am going to take:

1.Passport
2.Supporting letter from Employee
3.My qualification certficate
4.My Experience Certificate from previous employer
5.Salary Slip (Past two months)
6.Bank accounts (as stated above)

Is there anything else required.

Do i need to include anything else?

Regards,
Matrix

I was also wondering about this as I will be trying to apply for my ILR by the end of 2008 and I am unsure how to get my Bank of America statements as they tell me when I call that they can not mail statements overseas that my only option will be paperless and I do not wish to pay for a plane trip to the states just to get printed out statements (that pretty much look exactly like the ones line anyway).  There is no local branch in the UK and I have no idea how I am going to get around this!

Sorry to hijack just saying I am also interrested in this answer...   :)

I don't specifically about tier 2, but for my work permit entry clearance I sent in passport, the work permit itself, the actual visa application printed off the website, the biometrics confirmation, and 3 months of bank statements.  The bank statements if printed off the internet should be stamped and signed as authentic. (I had paper statements, so I didn't have an issue.)

I just don't know what they want you to do if your money is in a US Bank Account and there are no UK branches to go to in order to have them stamped... hhhmm...  This is going to be difficult.

We can use a Barclays ATM machine to withdraw funds for no fees but obviously I can't get my statements from barclays.   :-\\\\

I'm in the US now, going to be entering the UK on October 1st with a Spousal Visa which has the KOL Stamp.  I plan on going for my ILR sometime in November/December.

I called Bank of America again on my lunch and explained that I needed statements to be mailed to me each month but they said again that if the mailing address if overseas they can only offer online statements.

I know I have to keep that Bank of America account open until at least the end of November as I have a large deposit that will be going in as my current job does not participate in Social Security they have been depositing money into a TMRS Retirement account and when you quit they give you all of your deposits back.  It will take them until November to get those funds to me (I work for a City in Texas).

So I guess we can always try to get a Bank account started in the UK (have heard that is a nightmare) and then once that deposit has been made can see about transferring everything from Bank of America to our new account but would still not have three months worth of statements at that time unless they will take Online Statements to show it being moved from that account to this one.

Right before we leave in October I will make sure to go to Bank of America and get current statements printed out and stamped just in case... lol

Okay this was just me 'thinking out loud'...  ;D  Sorry that it went on for so long!

If all else fails I guess I can always wait to apply for my ILR but I don't want fees to go up and I am sure they will! lol

Oh, okay. I thought you were specifically asking about tier 2 (work permits) which was why I was wondering why you were in the UK and trying to get bank statements for entry clearance. I was confused.

I don't know much about ILR and how that's handled.  Maybe someone else around here will have more information on what to do about your bank statements.

This thread is mixing requirements for three different visas.

I only added to the originial post as it seemed to me he/she was also unsure on how to get originial statements if your bank only offers eStatements and there are no branches in the UK to go to.  But I will ask in my own post at a later time.  Sorry for the Hijack thought it was somewhat related as it dealt with Bank Statements.   :-[

Please help the OP with his question if anybody can... again sorry!
