Paperclips or staples?
« on: September 03, 2009, 08:00:20 PM »
Please excuse the trivial question - on the visa application, can the photograph be stapled to the application form? It just says it should be attached. Also the form itself - can the pages be stapled or should they be paperclipped?

We finally have everything organised and it's nice to be able to worry about minor matters instead of massive problems! My partner has completed her online application, has an appointment for her biometrics next week and then she is ready to Fedex the whole thing to the expediter.

The end of four years of waiting is in sight. The shipping consignment left the US today. 7 weeks from today my partner and the two dogs will land in Heathrow and life will never be the same!

I hope everything runs smoothly for you.

I have everything ready to send of too and have my biometric appointment tomorrow. I'm so excited, yet nervous. I feel my stomach doing turns already.

I used staples because at the time I didn't have any paperclips and didn't want to wait to get any.

As for the passport picture - I only put mine in an envelope. But maybe you are supposed to attached it to the application?

No need to worry about attaching the photo to the actual application--I just kept mine in the envelope it came in from Walgreens, and made sure it was paperclipped to the rest of my papers and there didn't seem to be an issue. As for paperclips versus staples, I haven't read anywhere that there'd be an issue using staples, so I *think* it should be okay.

I've stapled everything that will be going in my package that is more than one page (ie, my budget ended up being two pages when I printed it so they were stapled together).  I put each of my sections together with a large paperclip and then once I have everything together, I will be clamping it all together with a large clip.  But that's just me.

I attached my picturewith blue tak as I wasn't sure if it should be attached and didn't want to risk it being returned for having holes in it. Good luck with your application

(I used a courier so I'm prefacing it with that):

I used staples on papers that were more than one page, paperclips if I wanted to attach something to the front, and put each section (photos, cards, etc) in a sheet protector.
