I wanted this, but in all the years could never convince my husband it was worth the future hassle of moving it (before we bought our house) or renovating around it (after we bought our house).  He agreed thst in the FutureTM we should have a nice filing cabinet, but not 'til our house is ready.  I'm a dual citizen, now.  My immigration journey is complete.  I no longer care about filing cabinets.  *hair tiss*

Haha! I had to cart mine up 3 flights of stairs and being 6ft2 and the stairwell getting narrower in our house, as well as the roof getting closer, it was loads of  fun...

Yeah... I am 4'10" with shoes on, so I am not the one to go hauling filing cabinets around.  I generally listen to my husband when he says he doesn't want the hassle of moving things around.  It's not fair to him to put him through that when he's openly objected.  And we got through the applications in the end.

But you!  You're living the organizational dream!  You're going to cinch this whole immigration marathon!  Yay!

Hello all,  applying this week for the spouse visa to live in sunny Devon!  Missing my partner and our daughter like many others that get caught up in the visa grind.  Currently enjoying some time with my US family and eating too much southern and Mexican food to make up for lost time.

I think I see a section for visa stuff so I will ask my questions about that in a different spot.  Glad to have found this site and open to any encouragements and advice.

Cheers Y'all,

Jon

Hi Jon, and welcome!  It kinda sounds like you don't need the other sections of our forum, but if you do ever find yourself needing to talk to others who understand the unique challenge of moving to an only slightly foreign place (just similar enough to be disconcerting!), we're here for you. Or if you just decide you like us and choose to stay.  :)

Hello!

It's been too too long since I've checked in -- just wanted to say Hey!

How is gorgeous Jimmy?  :D

Sorry I missed this... I don't usually miss an opportunity to bore folk demented with my hound talk!  ;)

He is just wonderful.  He's like having 4 dogs in 1... the vigilant, serious, on-duty patrol dog, the neighbourhood thug who will tell you to get tae fck if he doesn't like the look of you, the sweet sleepy cuddle hound (wont get out of bed for the morning walk until his face is plastered in kisses), and the prancing, flirty, smiley wee clown.  I'm so in love with him!!  [smiley=smitten.gif]

Just us oldies I guess.  I don't know how I missed this thread last year, it's not not like I was away traveling or anything.

Thanks.  On June 4 we're actually going on a 2 week holiday, driving down to Cornwall - Yay!
