Wow!  Did you plan on staying so long or did it just sort of happen?

Eggbeaters...  I've not seen them anywhere over here, I really miss them.

Before I leave to go back to the UK, I'm going to stock up on...
-Clothes at Anthropologie.  The same dress that costs 100 dollars in the US costs 100 pounds at the London locations.  Compare the websites!
-Definitely household things at Target: The lemon verbena scent of Mrs. Meyer's all purpose cleaner, etc.
-A Beehouse tea set.
-Joe's Jeans.
-Contact lenses, Aleve, Aveda products (these cost WAY more in the UK).
-Definitely going to get an eye exam and dental cleaning too!
-One last shop at my favourite designer discount stores...eg. Daffy's, Loehmann's.
-Pistachio flavour instant Jell-O pudding :-D
-Olay Regenerist products.  I have a feeling these are way less in the US too.
-Yankee candles.
-Protein bars.
Will probably go broke trying to save money ;-)

I don't know how you're moving (just suitcases or shipping stuff), but if it were me I would forget taking things I can get here and save room for the things I can't get here.  Sure, some stuff is cheaper in the states, but I've found that sacrificing saving some money is worth bringing along a lot more of the items I know I can only get in the US.   Eventually, you won't really compare the prices to those at home anymore anyway.  :)

It's gotten to the point now that there are only 2 items I make sure to stock up on when I go stateside: Secret deodorant and Noxema.  These are the two things I just can't find a good replacement for here.

You make a very good point.  I'm probably getting carried away thinking about that sort of thing...:)

Oooh that's excellent!  I love egg whites but I feel bad wasting the yolk because I often can't find something to do with them, so that's excellent  :)

This is a good thread!  Some ppl mentioned they wished they'd brought their cast iron.  I'm determined to ship my favorite skillet even though I've been compared to a pioneer woman.  I'm two weeks away from the big move but I'll be sure and stock up on deodorant and feminine products.  I already have BPA free tupperware, a big bottle of advil, Vit. C, and other misc things I find necessary, although I realize I'll have to adjust to life without some things eventually.  (I brought measuring cups, beauty products, etc. over ages ago).  Other foods I always bring on visits:

Kettle popcorn
White Lilly flower (to make proper Southern biscuits!!)
Lipton's iced tea (my family won't drink it but I will)
Stubb's BBQ sauce (I cannot find good bbq sauce in the UK)
Luna bars
Dreamfield's low carb pasta

Anybody have any suggestions about finding alternatives?  One thing I'd love to find in the UK is turkey bacon, like one would find at Whole Foods or a little co-op.  I don't eat regular bacon and my husband even likes it when we're in the US.  I haven't looked at Whole Foods in London (we're based in Kent) or Waitrose but definitely no luck at Tesco or Sainsbury.

I KNOW I'm going to miss Mexican food.  May have to get my mom to send me some masa to make tamales at Christmas.  I've had good luck finding dry pinto beans and taco shells/tortillas but the food at the Mexican restaurants there are not the same!

We have those here! I bought a gorgeous second-hand one at a car boot sale for a fiver!

I think all supermarkets here sell turkey bacon. I don't eat it, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it.

It sound be easily found in a regular supermarket, its under a brand called Mattessons - I don't believe I have ever tried it though, so can't comment on the taste
