Nice, you'll be in the 3-vaccine club!  Let us know how you get on!

My 1st and 2nd were AZ, and my booster will be either Pfizer or Moderna (but most likely Pfizer).

At my hospital appointment three weeks ago, I was asked if I'd received my booster yet.  I'm not sure I want a booster when I'm offered it.  My first and second doses were Pfizer, and I'm pretty sure it affected my heart (and I'm not sure it's completely recovered... I wish I could've safely got the echocardiogram to make sure I'm okay).  I've also seen hints from research that Moderna can cause myocarditis in a small number of people, too.  I genuinely don't know what the safest option is for me.  This pandemic was so much easier when all I had to do was avoid people.  Now there are choices.  :/
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

Have your specialists guide you.  They’ve been great at the advice they’ve given you thus far.  Ask if they can test your antibodies.

I’m in the same position, expect to be called for my booster next month.  I really, really, really want Moderna but suspect I’ll only be able to get Pfizer. Why you ask?  Because Moderna titres don’t decline over time and Pfizer do.

Actually, my husband and I have been self-navigating this pandemic, for the most part.  When they brought up the booster, and I explained it was right after my second Pfizer jab that I started all the O2/CO2 issues so I was iffy on a booster, they didn't offer any guidance.  They acknowledged the risk, but didn't suggest a clear path.  But the summer was pretty scary, so I think I'll skip the booster.

I can understand that for sure.

Earlier this week I was sat in one of my regular small coffee shops. I was next to a lady on her own who was next to a couple  who were next to another man on his own. A whole gaggle of us oldies chatting away. The married guy said he wasn’t going to get the booster because after his last AZ vaccine he couldn’t stay awake for about 3 months and said that he thought he had necrophilia.  He and his wife continued chatting to the other man and the lady next to me whispered that she had never heard of that so I explained that it meant he liked having sex with dead people but that is not what he meant. He heard me and said “did I really say necrophilia?  I meant to say narcolepsy!”.

Hah!  As I was reading, I am embarrassed to admit I thought it was you using the wrong word.  I'm sorry I doubted you.

In other news, home O2 nurse came round for a follow-up check.  My pH is 7.42 (up from 7.26 with PCO2 through the roof at the worst of it).  My bicarb is still a little bit high, but that's just me compensating.  I'm definitely out of the woods.  Yay!

Haha, this isn't the first time I've heard of the two words being confused for each other!

Remember - someone with necrophilia sleeps WITH the dead, someone with narcolepsy sleeps LIKE the dead!

(and I joke about this as a person with narcolepsy!)

Woohoo, brilliant news!

Thanks, Aquila.  I was so worried over the summer, because I just couldn't catch my breath... I didn't feel like I was going to get better.  But, yay!

Glad you're getting there JFKimberly! Are you eligible for the 3rd dose (not just a booster)?   Obviously don't want  to cause any further issues with your breathing!

I'm eligible in November for my booster, most likely to be AZ/AZ/Pfizer
I've never gotten food on my underpants!
Work permit (2007) to British Citizen (2014)
You're stuck with me!

My treatment team keep asking me if I've been contacted for my booster (not 3rd dose), and I haven't yet.  I'm not sure what they will invite me to.  But I'm not keen on any more covid vaccine at all.  I don't want to go through all of that again.

It's so hard. The government seems that vaccines and nothing else is the way out of this.  Ignoring all the WHO advice about masks, and social distancing and blah blah blah.  So it's going to be a rocky road ahead for immunocompromised and clinically venerable folks who aren't quite sure what to do.

It's particularly frustrating because masks are so inexpensive and non-invasive.  If they just did the little things, like encouraging masks and social distancing, discouraging large gatherings, etc., we could mostly go about normal life.  We don't need to go to big events as part of everyday life.  It would allow the economy to run more smoothly, relieve pressure on the NHS because there'd be less chances of surging case numbers, and with less virus circulating vulnerable people would have less risk when they go out.

I just don't understand why some people won't do the easy thing to make everybody's life better.

(Mind you, I can't wear a mask... but that's why I protect myself and others by not going out in public!)

Having spent the last 3 days in Manchester, NO ONE is wearing masks. Very different to the south!

I’ll be shocked if I didn’t get Covid this week. SHOCKED!   ::)

That being said, first time properly visiting Manchester and what a great city!!
