I'm applying for ILR with a dependent partner. (I had an ancestry visa, for reference.) For the mail proving cohabitation, some of the letters list 'Initial Initial Lastname'. Is this acceptable or do they all need to list 'Firstname Lastname'?

Yes, that should be acceptable. Both my spouse and I have our respective bank statements come addressed that way, and we were able to use them for cohabitation evidence in my successful ILR application last year.
My Immigration Timeline:
Spouse visa: Applied online 05-03-2016 / Granted 10-04-2016
Arrival in UK: 01-05-2016
FLR(M): Applied online 11-12-2018 / Granted 08-01-2019 (Super Priority)
SET(M): Applied online 06-07-2021 / Granted 02-08-2021 (Super Priority)
Citizenship: Applied online 24-02-2022 / Approved 22-04-2022 / Granted 18-05-2022
First UK Passport: Applied online 10-06-2022 / Received 15-07-2022

Thank you!

Here are the documents I am planning to submit as proof of cohabitation. Can someone confirm if these will be acceptable and sufficient?

They cover 5 years of living in the UK on an ancestry visa. I have included something from every 5 months following what was posted here: https://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=98279.0

Here is what the checklist of documents asks for:
'If you have added a spouse or civil partner to this application form who is applying at the same time as you, please provide documentary evidence of cohabitation since you were last granted leave (up to a maximum of two years). Evidence provided should cover the whole period and be in the form of official letters or documents, addressed to yourself and your spouse.'

I was last granted leave 5 years ago so have gathered documents from the 5 years. Here is what I have been planning to submit:

-Signed leases from all 5 years

-Letters as described below (noting those using initials and those addressed individually; if not noted, they use full names and are addressed to both applicants jointly):

May 2017
Letter from bank (with initials)

Oct 2017
Individual letters from bank for main applicant and dependent (with initials)

March 2018
Council tax bill

August 2018
Credit card statement (dependent) and water bill (main applicant)

January 2019
Bank statement

June 2019
Council tax bill

November 2019
Bank statement

April 2020
BT Internet/TV bill (dependent) and TV licence (main applicant)

Sept 2020
Letter from electric/gas company

Feb 2021
Letter from bank

July 2021
Electric/gas bill

December 2021
Bank statement

May 2022
Letter from HMRC (main applicant) and bank (dependent), both with initials
These are both dated April 2022 but received in May; since I am applying in a couple days, these are the most recent documents I have available.

Many thanks!

You only need a maximum of 6 documents in each name, evenly spread over the time since your last grant of leave (though we recommend 7 documents to cover both the beginning and end of the period), from at least 3 sources.

Since your last leave was granted 5 years ago, that means you only need 1 document dated every 10 months, not every 5 months (5 months spacing is only required for people whose last visa was granted 2.5 years ago… 2.5 years/6 = 5 months, while 5 years/6 = 10 months)).

You shouldn’t need to include 5 years of leases, but you can use a lease to make up the 6 (or 7) documents if you want.

The format of the names are irrelevant for the documents so there’s no need to explain initials vs. Full names. You can even have a mixture of maiden and married names on them and it won’t matter.

So, you need 1 document in each name from each of the following months (assuming you are applying in May 2022)

May 2017
March 2018
January 2019
November 2019
September 2020
July 2021
May 2022

From the documents you have listed, you just need to use:

May 2017
Letter from bank (Source 1)

March 2018
Council tax bill (Source 2)

January 2019
Bank statement

November 2019
Bank statement

September 2020
Letter from electric/gas company (Source 3)

July 2021
Electric/gas bill

May 2022
Letter from HMRC (main applicant) (Source 4) and bank (dependent)

Thank you for the helpful advice and clarifications. I'm happy to confirm that we both got ILR!
