Since moving back in 2016 we tried 4 suppliers, switching to Octopus in 2019 and have been extremely pleased with them ever since. When we had solar panels installed our existing meter was so old that it started going backwards when the sun was shining, which is not legal. We requested to switch and I immediately informed them of the situation. By the time the smart meter was installed we were quite a bit negative from the initial reading and I expected an estimated bill, but instead they gave us a full refund of the "negative" reading. They have been great ever since and we have been on their Intelligent Go tariff for the last couple of years, charging our EV and solar batteries at the overnight rate of 7p/kWh.
