ILR and Citizenship
« on: August 19, 2022, 12:02:37 PM »
FOR CONTEXT: My wife is a British citizen and I have leave to remain as a family member using the 5 year route.

I first applied to leave to remain in Nov 2017, and subsequently extended the leave to remain when it expired after 2 1/2 years.

However, the extention conincided with my new leave to remain being issued slightly late i.e. in September 2020. This was because of
COVID-19.

ASK/QUESTION: My leave to remain expires in May 2023. However, by this November (2022), I will have been in the UK for 5 years.
Can I apply to for indefinitely leave to remain even before my biometric card expires in May 2023. In essence, by November 2022 I will have been in the UK for 5 years. The only reason why the new biometric goes up until May 2023 is because of COVID delays.

Many thanks in advance (and for having this forum).

Warmest regards
