BRP Change of address
« on: October 09, 2022, 09:25:35 PM »
After getting ILR in 2014, I'm finally getting around to thinking about applying for citizenship.

I have just now realised that I was perhaps supposed to notify the UKBA whenever I changed address? I've moved house three times since 2014. Should I just update them now with my current address? I've changed address once in the last 3 years.

Is this something that could be an issue?

ILR was the end of your immigration route and meant you were free from immigration control as long as you didn't leave the UK for over 2 years. A valid ILR means you can have everything that a resident British Citizen can have. That suggests to me that you don't need to update the HO?

Citizenship is under the Nationality laws, not the Immigration laws and they have different requirements.
