Unmarried partner application submitted, timeline experiences?

Hi all,

My partner and I submitted out unmarried partner visa application in July 2022, we understand the process is currently 3 - 6 months but wondered if people have any recent experience on timelines, OR is there anyway we can check up on the status?

All we have received to date is a text message stating “The visa application for GWF ref no. Xxxxx was forwarded to UK Visas and Immigration on Aug 01, 2022.”

It's anything from 8 weeks to 6 months. They have taken staff from the family visa applications, to deal with all the visa applications from Ukraine. Some people are waiting shorter times than others but there doesn't seem to be any official information on why that is.There is no way to check where your application is in the pile.

I read on another forum, that the Ukraine situation means that Canada is now taking 2 years for a spouse visa.

It's been about 5/6 months from the USA.
