ILR application sanity check please!
« on: November 06, 2022, 05:23:02 PM »
Hi, hope everyone is doing well. We’ve started again with the visa process and we’re feeling very uncertain about it! :o
I asked this question back in May and I'm hoping someone might be able to confirm that we’re on the right track? Thanks so much in advance!! [smiley=smitten.gif]

For background:
I started on a fiancée visa then switched to my first FLR running from January 2018- July 2020.
I applied for my second FLR in June 2020, but due to Covid delays, it wasn’t granted until October 2020. So my second FLR runs until May 2023.
I know I can apply for ILR in December 2022 (due to the 28 day rule), which is our current plan.

My partner and I are most confused about what date to start our correspondence from.
What date should we use as the earliest point of correspondence? July 2020 aka my first FLR expiry date OR October 2020 aka when my second FLR started?

Fiancée visa: 07/12/2017
Biometrics: 07/18/2017 (Chicago)
Confirmation email:  07/24/2017
Decision email: 09/20/2017 (42BD)
Married: 12/28/2017
1st FLR(M) approved: 01/17/2018
1st BRP arrived: 01/19/2018
2nd FLR(M) applied: 06/23/2020
2nd FLR(M) approved: 10/30/2020
2nd BRP arrived: 11/05/2020
ILR biometrics on 01/11/2023 Super priority decision
Citizenship biometrics: 04/15/2023
Citizenship ceremony: 09/05/2023

The guidance for that used to say provide the mail since your last grant of leave to remain. Presuming it still reads the same, it would be from October 2020. It wouldn't hurt to do the full 2.5 years that it is for most people though.

Thank you so much for the quick and helpful response! :)

We're planning correspondence from the below dates (as they are evenly spaced every 5 months counting backwards from when we're planning on applying), do you think this looks alright?

That looks great and pretty much covers it either way, with the bonus 7th piece(s).
