Life in the UK Test reference in ILR application
« on: December 05, 2022, 10:16:51 PM »
Hi all, I'm currently in the midst of applying for my ILR.

There is a question regarding the Life in the UK Test in the application, which I've copied and pasted below:

If you took your test after 17 December 2019, your reference number will be in the email sent to you with your result, it will be in this format: ABC/111111/111111/111111111

But my Life in the UK Test reference number is actually in the format ABC/111111/AA11AA111/AA1AAAAA. I've double checked and it's still this reference. Am I missing something or is their reference example in the question poorly worded?

Seeking reassurance, hope I'm not the only one who is confused!  ??? Thanks in advance!

I think it just means that if you took the test after 17 December 2019, you will have a reference number instead of a paper pass certificate.

On 17 December 2019, they changed from issuing the result as a physical certificate which you had to scan and upload, to issuing the result as a Unique Reference Number which you type into the application form.

I don’t think the specific format of the reference number matters, just that you have a reference number rather than a certificate.
