Well now I am worried. I submitted 16th August...

Not sure what to do now.

Try not to worry, (I know, it's impossible) there is always someone who takes longer than everyone else. It only means that your application probably hasn't been looked at yet, you're in the slow pile.

And if they do have any questions, they are much more likely to contact you than with a visa application but at this stage, no news is good news.

Thank you! I probably already knew that but its hard. I feel like 90% of the process is reminding myself that I submitted everything honestly and waiting is normal. I appreciate the reassurance.

Two months to six months seems to be the norm and there doesn't seem to be any pattern of who gets into the earlier timeframe.

Up to 2 years to wait for a decision tends to be for those with an adverse immigration history.

As you have been honest in all your applications, there really is nothing to worry about, now or in the future.

You could discount 2 weeks for Christmas and another 2 weeks for mail strikes. It will be with you any day now. Citizenship is a different dept and frankly if you have ILR it is practically just a formality.   You are through the hard bit!

On the 25th January (Wednesday) it will be 14 weeks since biometrics were submitted.

I feel better knowing there are others who are waiting.

We’ll all get there (I hope!)

I forgot about the postal strikes but approval comes via email doesn't it?

I am beginning to think mine was put in the super slow pile because of my self assessment information... ;D

But it is a comfort to be in the same boat as others...just remember that the finish line is in site... ;)

Fingers crossed you hear soon.

Traditionally (based on my experience of the last 15 years of timelines), citizenship takes 4-6 months for approval, so the faster decisions that people have seen lately may be a bit of an exception rather than the standard.

There’s usually no real rhyme or reason to why some people get theirs much quicker and others don’t.
