Have to apply for ILR very close to expiry date

Hello everyone! I'm due to apply for my ILR and while I wanted to apply earlier, I had a few LITUK tests cancelled because the building lost power (yes, more than once). I found out shortly after passing my test that I need to return to the US in early July, my BRP expires 28 July.

I plan on getting as much together for my application before I go back so that I can essentially apply as soon as I return on the 9th of July. Obviously, my BRP will expire very shortly after I apply. Is this an issue? I can't remember since I did my last application in the midst of lockdowns. I know I can't travel which is not an issue, I just want to make sure that I won't be breaking any rules.

That's absolutely fine. As long as you've applied before the old one expires you're protected under section 3C and your current permissions are extended.
