ILR Application (Cash Savings Route)
« on: May 08, 2023, 12:46:27 PM »
Hi all,

I'm getting ready to submit my ILR application next month. I arrived in the UK on 18 July 2018, so my understanding is that I can apply from 20 June 2023.

I have a quick question about the evidence for the cash savings route. I've only just noticed that my bank was not automatically producing monthly statements for my savings account, so my most recent statement is from Nov 2022. I've just now requested a new statement which should come on 7 June 2023 - just in time for my application. The statement will show my account from Nov 2022 to June 2023 so it will cover the whole 6 months on one statement. Is that a problem if it's just one statement rather than individual monthly statements?

Also does the bank statement for the financial evidence need to be a physical paper copy or can it be a PDF downloaded from online? I have physical mail that I'll be using for my proof of address separately.

If there is a problem with my evidence for the cash savings route I could apply through the employment route instead with monthly payslips, employer letter, and checking account statements. But I'd rather go through cash savings if I can since it's a little simpler!

Thanks in advance!

It can be all in one statement. Original paper statement is good.  PDF would have to be printed out and stamped by the bank on each page.

Thanks larrabee!

One other question - I've just noticed that our latest council tax bill only has my husband's name on it but not my name. Will this be a problem when we submit the information about our current residence? Our lease is under both of our names and I have mail in both of our names to show that we've been living together the whole time.

Hi all,

One more question on my application - just want to make sure I'm getting the dates right.

I arrived in the UK on 18 July 2018, so my understanding is that I can submit my SET(M) application for ILR as early as 5 years minus 28 days, so in this case 20 June 2023. Is that correct?

Then when I'm filling in the SET(M) application, where it asks how long I've lived in the UK, is it acceptable to write 4 years 11 months (rather than 5 years), since that is true at the time of the application?

Thanks in advance!
