FLR_M Financial Requirement- non salaried employment
« on: June 30, 2023, 12:45:39 PM »
I am applying for my FLR (M) and am confused about proving my income. I had worked for 3 different companies in the UK as an hourly paid employee (non- salaried employee) with a 15 hour per week contract, (I always worked more hours than stated on my contract) but I have left these companies. Last month I started working for 2 different companies, teaching online. Both of these companies are based in different countries and I don't have a set number of contract hours AND I am an independent contractor so I am responsible for paying taxes in my home country. I have 2 questions:

1- Am I not able to use the £15,300 I earned working for the UK companies that I no longer work for towards my financial requirement?
2- Do I have to register as 'self-employed' with the HMRC before I apply in order to use the money towards the financial requirement I made for the overseas companies?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially clarification between 'non- salaried employee' and 'self- employed'.
