Providing payslips for citizenship application???
« on: June 30, 2023, 09:30:31 PM »
Hi all.

I'm still stressing over my tax allowance issue (see thread for Employment Question), but I've got another weird one I was hoping someone could give some insight into.

So, as we know, the application asks for your employment - and it only gives one entry. While I've been frantically trying to find some guidance as to whether or not the home office will deem me not of good character for forgetting to cancel my marriage tax allowance when I started making more money last financial year, I found some solicitor websites with advice regarding refusals.

One said that one reason for refusal is not providing correct employment info and that you have to provide your full employment history. Which makes no sense when you see the application, I know. However, my husband said he was talking to his parents and they said that his mother had to provide payslips for her citizenship application 2 years ago.

I've found several other solicitors websites that have pages explaining the process and what you need to provide, and almost all say that you need P60s from previous 5 or 6 years. Could this be them trying to provide more evidence for residency?

So I don't know, it all sounds strange. My mother in law is Cypriot and had ILR since the 80s, so it may have been because there may not be stamps in her passports, I dont know.

Had anyone heard of having to provide full employment history before? Or multiple P60s or payslips (unless the passports don't reflect things right). I've had so many jobs here, I don't know if I'd have all the dates for them :(
