ILR Free Biometric Appointment? + document question
« on: June 27, 2023, 02:09:10 PM »
I’m looking to book my biometric appointment and I don’t see any free appointments…. Wondering how so many people have gotten them? I live in London. Only a tiny bit salty about having to pay an additional £139 on top of the astronomical application fee 🙃

Also, while I’m here…. Do I need to get my bank statements stamped at the bank and then upload them? Or can I just upload the pdf I downloaded from the site?

I just can’t wait to never have to do this again!
Application submitted: December 25
Biometrics Complete: January 5
Documents sent: January 5 (priority)
Confirmation Email (after a slight panic attack inducing misstep from UPS): Jan 10
Decision Email: February 20
Passport returned: February 22 APPROVED!

I think KSand said recently that the free appointments are released at 9am. Also, if you are prepared to travel further from home, you might get one more easily.

Amazing thank you, I ended up getting one but now I’m a bit nervous,,, my BRO expires at the beginning of august but only got a slot for  24th july… is it ok that they probably won’t have decision before my BRP expires? I remember with COVID there was something about it being ok while they are making a decision but not sure if that was just a covid thing….

Also, for documents upload, can I upload like online bank statements or do I need to scan in ones with the stamp from the bank?

Thanks again! I’m 6 weeks post natal so this is taking much longer and much more brain power than in the past ❤️

The only thing you need to do before your BRP expires is submit the online application.

As long as you have applied online before that, if needed, you can attend biometrics after your BRP has expired.

Your immigration status will be automatically extended under Section 3C Leave while the visa is processing.
