ILR Document Check
« on: August 18, 2023, 04:05:08 PM »
Hi all,

It's time for us to apply for my wife's ILR. We have put together the list of documents based on Matt's ILR procedure. Wanted to make sure that everything looks okay and if anyone's able to sanity check the documents and answer a few queries, it would be greatly appreciated!

My wife came to the UK on her first spouse visa on 6th October 2018 (stamped on old passport) so this means that she will be eligible to apply for ILR from 08th September 2023 onward. We are planning on submitting the application on 15th of September and hopefully using the super priority service.

We have prepared the following documents for submission:

1.Finances
a.Bank Statements
i.15 March 2023
ii.15 April 2023
iii.15 May 2023
iv.15 June 2023
v.15 July 2023
vi.15 August 2023
vii.15 September 2023 (awaiting)

The above covers exactly 6 months if you count from 15th of March - 15th of September, however, the March statement covers 16th of Feb - statement date so shouldn't be an issue?

b.Payslips
i.20 February 2023
ii.20 March 2023
iii.20 April 2023
iv.19 May 2023
v.20 June 2023
vi.20 July 2023
vii.18 August 2023

Similar to the bank statements, just taking the start and end payslip dates actually leaves us a few days shy of 6 months, however, the February pay slip covers the whole month of February.  The period end date on the payslip is 28th of February 2023. Could this be too confusing? Should we include January's pay slip and the additional bank statement to be on the safe side?

c.P60
d.Employer Letter to be dated for beginning of September
e.Job Contract

2.Residence in the UK
a.Land Registry
b.Latest council tax statement
c.Annual mortgage statement

We downloaded a copy of the title register online, however, it does state on the document that this is not an official copy of the register. Will this be okay?

d.Cohabitation
i.September 2023 – Joint Octopus Energy Bill (waiting)
ii.April 2023 – Joint Barclays Bank Statement
iii.November 2022 – Joint Barclays Bank Statement
iv.June 2022 – Joint Council Tax Statement
v.February 2022 – Joint Council Tax Statement
vi.October 2021 – Joint Thames Water Bill
vii.May 2021- Joint Thames Water Bill

We have more or less managed to get even spacing (every 4-5 months) between the documents and have 4 different sources.

3.Other
a.Marriage Certificate
b.Divorce Decree

4.Applicant
a.Current US Passport
b.Old US Passport
c.Current BRP

These include all the passports she has held whilst living in the UK.

5.Sponsor
a.Current UK Passport

6.Application
a.Signed sponsor’s declaration (to be completed)
b.Life in the UK Test Code

Is there anything else that is missing or could be a useful addition?

We also have a couple of other questions:

1.  We are aware that the original/postal copies are required for bank statements and cohabitation documents, but is this the case for other documents as well such as electronic pay slips, mortgage statement, land registry etc? Can we upload e copies of these?

2. We will be submitting the application on 15th of September which will be the date of the latest bank statement. Working back from this, the latest pay slip will be exactly within 28 days (18th of August). This seems quite tight but I guess we don't have another option as the payslip and bank statements dates don't line up any better. Is there a 28 day time frame requirement for any other document besides bank statements, pay slips and employer letter?

That's all for now. Thank you once again  :)
