ILR approved!

Hi all,

Just thought I’d stop by and let you know that we finally reached the end of our visa journey as our application for Indefinite Leave To Remain was approved yesterday.

I felt this was the easiest of the applications to do, probably as the whole thing feels so familiar at this point.  Also, we met the financial requirement using cash savings, which cut down on the amount of document preparation required.

For the accommodation requirement, the online application is no longer asking for a land registry document to prove home ownership - just proof of housing costs (I.e. mortgage statement) and a council tax statement was all we needed to submit.

Also, on the UKVCAS website, they’ve dispensed with the document upload categories and have changed the upload document screen to reflect the document-by-document checklist you get during the online application.  This makes it very clear what to upload where and ensures you don’t miss anything.

All in all, it just felt simpler and more straight-forward than I remember FLR being.

We set the alarm for 1am to snag the super-priority service, which, like clockwork, became available to choose at 1.01am.  Biometrics for us was last Sunday around 11am (only took 10 mins to do) we got the successful decision notification around 11am on Monday, so almost precisely 24 hours.

Thanks for everyone on this group who has supported us along the way.  It was all very much appreciated.

Regards,

Tim

Congratulations!  :)

I'm glad they seem to be streamlining the application process but do be aware that just because something is not asked for, doesn't mean it may not be necessary.
